Title: City--reduction linocut A linocut, or woodcut is created from a matrix. Carving takes place. White lines are created by cutting the wood or linoleum away. The colored part of the image is the raised area. When using wood, the grain of the wood becomes an important part of the image.

Brethren-a collagraph A collagraph is created by the artist. A matrix or surface of cardboard, wood, or other firm background is used. Objects and other textural material are glued to the matrix and coated with a protective film. The collagraph can be printed in several techniques, but is known for its texture.

Nude: Monotype A monotype is a one-of-a-kind print. The artists draws and paints the image on a matrix; a sheet of plexiglass, wood, or metal. Ink may be added, removed, sketched on. When the image is complete, damp paper is placed over it and it is run through an etching press. When the paper is pulled off of the matrix, all of the ink is on the paper.

"Net"-silkscreen Use of a silk screen is a kind of stencil. The image is placed onto the screen by drawing, using stencils, or photo emulsion. Once the image is on the silkscreen, the silkscreen is laid on top of the paper, ink is pushed through the screen with a squeegee and the image is thus printed onto the paper.
